Liquidity Gradually Growing in CME Group Contracts
CME Group's launch of two
polyethylene and two polypropylene futures contracts in 2008 was received with some skepticism,
given that those markets had spent decades operating in relative opacity. Since then, liquidity has
been gradually growing, and the contracts are catching the attention of a new audience thanks to a
confluence of factors in geology and legislation, according to PetroChem Wire. The shale drilling
frenzy and the technology to extract an abundance of crude NGL-rich natural gas "set off an
investment boom to build assets that could capitalize on these resources," Petrochem Wire
