Evergreen Solar was a hot item a few years ago, when investors realized the Umboogo Ad. was going to blindly dump billions of dollars into the solar industry.
We here urged people not to invest in these type of companies, because solar is not yet a viable industry-and it will not be until someone invents a way to capture the sun's energy and transform it into usable power other than using rare trace minerals to do it. Get that through the nutty, dreaming Left's brain and you should receive the Dinky Button of the year. I've tried. It's impossible.
Leftists are so sold on the myth that natural earth fuels are evil (or mining them is robbing their god, the earth) that they simply cannot understand the fact that solar power in mass usage is decenniums away. Or either, they will not face that fact. Certainly, to think as they do they must live their lives in total denial, so their brains might simply be able to block out facts they don't like. The latter I believe with all my heart is the case.
Blind-Minded Baby Boy Big Government Republikook Bushwhacker got this craziness started on a whim when he signed the huge Energy Bill at the end of his last term that has pretty much phased out the Edison light bulb and forced refining companies to mix their fuels with all sorts of super-expensive blends (the Umboogo EPA has carried this even further than the Energy Bill required). And for what? To stop C02 emissions, that's what for. (and people wonder why refining companies in the US have 1-2% profit margins; and they wonder why gas is so expensive)
The eco-maniacs should lobby Umboogo to kill off a few billion trees and plants, because every second they're producing C02 so that the planet will be livable.
Umboogo has upped the ante and has tossed over $100 billion of OPM into the alternative energy business-and just what does the nation have to show for that little toss? Pretty much nothing but a host of failures and companies that won't attempt to innovate because they have no incentive to, knowing that Uncle Sugar will be there to send in reinforcements, i.e, plenty of doe-rae-me. Is it any wonder that our nation is now $16 trillion in debt and will be $24 trillion in debt if Umboogo wins another term?
Well, let's be honest: Umboogo will get a lot of votes from the eco-maniacs, Hollywood, and the usual crowd of left-wing kooks who know about as much about what it takes to make a solar panel transfer a sun ray into usable energy as Cheetah the Chimp does. But they're going to vote for him no matter what he does. Take a dump in their dinner plate, they would simply brush it off (or wrap it up and save it as an honor) and think not a thing of it; after all, it's President Umboogo's excrement. That's OK. No, it's great! Perhaps they could use it as an energy source. Remember Doodoo Rockefellar who spent hundreds of millions of her inherited wealth trying to turn doodoo into fuel? She's a really good argument to spend all your money before you die and leave it to an idiot.
Evergreen received more than $20 million in grants and $11 million in tax and lease initiatives from Massachusetts. That doesn't include other tax benefits and millions in upgrades to roads and utilities around the plant.
Dumborat Governor Deval Patrick championed Evergreen Solar early in his first term. Has little to say about it now, hoping I suppose the public will, per usual, forget about it. Oh no, it's Massachusetts; they like politicians to do stupid things that make them feel good about their government. They'll probably praise him for trying to save the planet.
There will be more of these failures to come. Don't let some lowbrow broker salesman talk you into buying any of their stocks, unless you hate money. Rather, leave your money to some Tattooed Non-Reasoning Non-Listening Cynical Bong Baby with instructions to take a look at the solar industry when they're in their `70s; it might be viable by then.
