Rush Limbaugh Isn't the Only Media Misogynist

Intro to "Rush Limbaugh Isn't the Only Media Misogynist," by Kirsten Powers

I myself don't even relate to the words that some people claim to get so upset about. I was raised by and live by the adage that "stick and stones might break your bones but words can never hurt you," and I encourage others to do the same. Pay no attention to meaningless taunts and jabs.

That is not absolute, however. Impugning someone's integrity is certainly improper (and it is not meaningless), unless the proof is there. E.g., we commonly call Obongo a liar because we have the evidence to prove it-and he has not slowed down in the least. I doubt that he will because one part of the media will not say certain things about him-and the other part fears to say certain things about him. He knows that, and thus runs freely over the nation (read: world) lying and deceiving anyone who will listen to him. The man is certainly a much better liar than the last three presidents. He can spit out a big one and not flinch. It's really quite disconcerting he lies so easily and calmly. It's as if he believes what he's saying himself.

Most of the squalling about words bothering people so much is mere political correctness-a method invented forty-years ago (modeled on the ideas of Stalin and Mao) on the Left Bank in France to control their opponents' language, in an effort to change society to their way of thinking. It is a revolutionary method to carry out change. It works well-and the American Left has used it to the point of changing the whole nation's language, and in many ways society itself. (this we have written about numerous times over the last thirty-years)

As far as what Rush Limbaugh said about Sandra Fluke, I watched the video and think it was a lame attempt at making a joke. It wasn't funny in the first place, and in the second it would have been far better to call the woman a parasite, due to her wanting the Federal Government to force a university to pay for her contraception. See the video here:

What Limbaugh did was blow an opportunity to expose the American Left for the nuts that they are-just imagine that there are people out there who take this stuff she's begging for seriously. Why! Me-I wouldn't even have gotten into it. It's simply too silly to address.

I wouldn't mention any of this childish mess were the author of the below article not a leftist herself, and she does make many worthwhile points. Yet, I disagree with much of the things that she sees as offensive, though they may indeed be to her. Bill Maher, however, is another matter. He is a mean, vicious, left-wing atheist, a hateful blowhard who can get away with anything. He should be more than censored for many of the things he's said. But he won't be.

As to some of the others she mentions, Matt Taibbi is a sick propagandist; Ed Schultz is far too vicious, can't make an honest point, and should be ignored. Chris Matthews hates both the Clintons, because he believes they messed up a golden opportunity to socialize the nation, and he takes aim at both of them. Keith Olbermann will obviously say anything to get attention, never adds anything worthwhile to any debate (in fact, he doesn't debate), and should also be ignored. Let the loonies who haunt the Left late at night listen to Olbermann and Schultz and be fed the slop they so desire. After all, they deserve it.

Powers' point, though, is well made-Leftist get by with murder, while Rightist are condemned, castigated, and censored for raising their hand in class. She makes an excellent case for the American Left being a bunch of hypocrites, which they certainly are, in many more ways than she points out.

She won't make many friends among her own for this piece, that's for sure. That does not make it untrue, though.

Rush Limbaugh Isn't the Only Media Misogynist

By Kirsten Powers

Did you know there is a war on women?

Yes, it's true. Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Bill Maher, Matt Taibbi, and Ed Schultz have been waging it for years with their misogynist outbursts. There have been boycotts by people on the left who are outraged that these guys still have jobs. Oh, wait. Sorry, that never happened.

Boycotts are reserved for people on the right like Rush Limbaugh, who finally apologized Saturday for calling a 30-year-old Georgetown Law student, Sandra Fluke, a "slut" after she testified before congress about contraception. Limbaugh's apology was likely extracted to stop the departure of any more advertisers, who were rightly under pressure from liberal groups outraged by the comments.
